About Me

Safety pins!!!!!  I have been making safety pin jewelry for more than 20 years.  I enjoy making these unusual pieces using safety pins and an enormous variety of exciting beads.

I began making my innovative creations purely by chance.  I was taught how to make a simple bracelet during a family weekend gathering and became hooked on the challenge of creating colorful designs on the pins.  The response from friends urged me to go on to try to sell the bracelets,  then came requests for earring and necklaces.  The challenge of finding wonderful beads and buttons to put on the safety pins is always calling.  I just love putting colors and textures and shapes together.  There is no limit to the designs and color combinations that can be created.

Whenever I think about doing something else, I hear stories from happy customers about how often they are stopped and asked about their jewelry.

I have always loved working with my hands and am a very visual person as far as shapes and colors.  I have not had formal training in Art other that a few courses including pottery, photography and a basic silversmithing course.  I always enjoyed doing art projects with my children and as they grew older and with our Girl Scout troop.

Once I gained experience with the jewelry, I began doing some craft shows and then graduated into the wholesale market doing the Buyers Market of American Crafts for ten years.  This opened accounts across our country to many private customers, and all over the world to galleries, museum shops and boutiques.
